Our Very Own Virginia "Ginny" Knox was honored for her kindness

This is a portion of the article in the Chillicothe Gazette:   Honored at the breakfast with the Statehood Day Achievement Award was Virginia Knox, a local fundraiser and community service volunteer. Carolyne Horsely, of Chillicothe, said she had been privileged to be a friend of Knox.

"She collects for cancer fundraisers and heart disease, and she stays with people when they're sick," Horsely said.

Most importantly, Knox is always willing to take in someone in need or help them care for their loved ones, Horsely said.

"She took me to Columbus 18 times to visit my husband when he was sick," she said. "There's no one more deserving than her."

He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed bowling.

Karen's Thoughts on Herbie.....

Herbie was my good friend...I had known him for 34 years. I worked with him at Zane Commercial Printing in Kingston, Ohio Herbie was a jokester...I remember him putting a can of open sardines in Neil's mom's car (she worked there too) and she didn't find it for a week, but she smelled it for a month...When the plant went out of business I think her went to Craftsman & I went to Webb's.  Then I worked for Printex  The advertiser & The Ross County Paper....and I know he worked for Webbs & First Capital... I really don't know the order...It was funny...all the same people just hop from Print shop to print shop.... It's in your blood...

I was so surprised when I rolled into the fairgrounds and there was Herbie with a big ole grin on his face...just like always.. He was a little older & a little fatter I was a little older & a little Fatter...Makes for better hugs...Herbie & Barb were really good to us during the years at New Beginnings.  He would get out there & move those bleachers anywhere I wanted them ....If I changed my mind....& didn't like it ...He move them again....he'd just shake his head...

Herbie was a good guy... I can say that he never said anything out of line to me in all the years that I knew him.  I really respected him for that...I didn't know Barb that well but I knew she was a good woman to him...He loved her & his kids. you could tell by the gleam in his eyes & the smile on his face when he talked about them.   Anyway he was a treasure I'll never forget! Hopefully we'll cross paths again in heaven.

OLD NEWS 2007

Bernie Lindsey has left the band ..He's now playing with the Hocking Valley Boys and

Craig Jarvis left the band for greener pastures last March, just after finishing the new CD.

We've had a lot of fun in the past years, and we wish Craig & Bernie well in what ever they do.

The bass and tenor duties are being taken over by Mike Sheppard, from Parkersburg, WV.

Mike's bio and picture will post soon, and we will have updated band photos at our first

chance.  Please welcome Mike into the fold when you meet him.  We think he's going to

fit in very well (if Tommy doesn't ruin him first!!!).  See you at the next show,

Neil
